  • Lisa Womack

Lisa Womack’s love for design started out of necessity; she and her husband moved many times in their early years together. Each time the couple relocated to a new city, Lisa looked forward to the challenge of setting up a new home by scouring the local design centers, antique shops, estate sales, and flea markets. Lisa especially loved antique hunting in western Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Vermont, after she and her family spent five years living in New England. Lisa’s husband, Jesse, is a native of San Antonio and the Womack family moved to Austin, Texas in 2012 in order to be closer to his family’s ranch in south Texas. They quickly enlisted the help of Meredith Ellis, whose daughter attended preschool with Lisa’s son, to help unify their 1940’s colonial home. Lisa and Meredith immediately found an easy working rapport and a shared love for all things English. The women entered into James with a desire to bring a touch of antiquity and a modern traditionalism to a vibrant, up and coming city.

A native of Pennsylvania, Lisa Womack attended Colgate University in New York and graduated with a degree in English. She then completed her M.A. at Middlebury College’s Bread Loaf School of English in Vermont. Lisa worked as a middle and high school English teacher before transitioning into the design field.

  • Hunter Ellis

Hunter developed his keen sense for operations and logistics through years of military training and extensive international travel in documentary television.  Journeys through remote regions in South America, Asia, and Africa have given Hunter a deep appreciation for the artisans in each culture and the impact they have on design around the world.  Embarking on this journey with his wife Meredith is a true honor, and sure to be the greatest adventure yet.
